Kansas wins NCAA Tournament

Congratulations to the Kansas Jayhawks for winning the 2022 NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship by outlasting North Carolina last night 72-69 in New Orleans. North Carolina came so close to finishing off their improbable run to a National Championship, but Kansas was just too much for the Tar Heels in the second half.
North Carolina was able to build a 15 point lead at the half thanks to great defense, offensive rebounding, a 16-0 run, and honestly some sloppy play from the Jayhawks. At the half, they led 18-2 in second chance points and 27-18 in rebounding.
Unfortunately, their lead did not last long, as Kansas came out HOT and was able to take the lead in less than 10 minutes. It was a fantastic, back and forth game from then on, but Kansas was able to hold on after North Carolina was unable to hit a couple different threes that would have tied the game. In the process, Kansas set the record for the biggest comeback in an NCAA Title game at 16 points.
In a game where we weren't even sure if he was going to play due to a sprained ankle, Armando Bacot had one of the guttiest performances I've ever seen. He could barely get up and down the floor, but was able to battle in the paint all night. He finished with 15 points and 15 rebounds in 38 minutes before re-spraining his ankle. He became the first ever player to have 6 double-doubles in a single NCAA Tournament. RJ Davis and Brady Manek also had double-doubles for the Tar Heels.
What a year! What a Tournament! And the ACC definitely proved that it was a lot better than the rest of the country thought. Only 217 days until we tip off the 2023 season!
